Yu Qun, member of the Party leadership group and vice chairman of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF), led a delegation on an inspection tour to Xi'an, Shaanxi province, from May 11 to 12. The purpose of the visit was to explore and research effective mechanisms for cultural exchange in the realm of Chinese heritage. Throughout their stay, Yu Qun and the delegation were updated on various projects, including the Tang Dynasty mural cultural exhibition in Taiwan's universities and the Xi'an Beilin Museum's exhibition of calligraphy copies of inscriptions.
During their visit, the delegation visited the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, Shaanxi Archaeology Museum, and Xi'an Beilin Museum. Their aim was to discover innovative approaches to utilize cultural relics and harness digital technology to promote traditional Chinese culture. A working symposium was held, during which Chen Chunlin, director of the Han-wei Cultural Association in Taiwan, proposed the establishment of a three-party long-term communication and cooperation mechanism. In addition to engaging in discussions and exchanges, the delegation also met with Xu Mingfei, vice governor of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government. The meeting resulted in a preliminary consensus on enhancing cooperation to advance the promotion and preservation of traditional Chinese culture.
The CSCLF, the Shaanxi Cultural Heritage Promotion Association, and the Han-wei Cultural Association in Taiwan signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Xi'an on May 12. The aim of this agreement is to collectively promote and preserve traditional Chinese culture among compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
