The Mingyuan Philanthropic Fund of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) held an educational assistance activity in the Central School of Nixi township of Tongjiang county, Southwest China's Sichuan province, on April 22.

The ceremony drew the attendance of Ma Lili, Executive Board Member of the CSCLF and President of the CSCLF Mingyuan Philanthropic Fund, and Chen Yuan, Vice-President of the CSCLF Mingyuan Philanthropic Fund.

The Nixi Central School was built in 1935 when the CPC-led Red Army came to Sichuan. It used to be an important part of "Lenin Primary School," carrying a profound history of revolutionary education. Since 2019, the CSCLF Mingyuan Philanthropic Fund has supported the construction of comprehensive teaching facilities, held special music education, and distributed financial aids among students in the school in a drive to further enhance their confidence and artistic literacy and promote their all-round development.

Music and art are an important component of the CSCLF Mingyuan Philanthropic Fund's special education project, which has fostered an aesthetic education model that comprises online courses, offline training, summer camp activities and performance reports. During the education assistance activity, several experts were invited to hold offline clarinet training and choir guidance, help the Nixi Central School set up its choir team, and guide students to give their performance report with warm response.

The CSCLF Mingyuan Philanthropic Fund was launched by Ma Mingzhe, CEO of Ping An Insurance, and his family in 2007. During the past years, it has committed itself to the implementation of public welfare activities about the revitalization of rural education, the caring of women and children, and the growth of youth from impoverished regions, built 16 special schools nationwide, and injected fresh vitality into rural education by undertaking music-oriented special education, rewarding outstanding teachers, assisting students in the completion of their academic studies, and holding capacity training for rural teachers. In the years ahead, it will continue with its collaboration with all social sectors to provide rural kids with quality education resources and help them realize dream.
