A workshop on the book "Walking Towards the Mountains" was held at the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling in Beijing on April 8. Li Anjin, deputy secretary general of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and director of the Management Centre of the Formers Residence of Soong Ching Ling, delivered a speech at the event. The workshop was attended by 13 experts and scholars from various fields, including children's literature, cultural communication, and youth education.

He noted that the language used in the book is tailored to engage young readers, enabling them to comprehend and enjoy the content easily.

Experts, including renowned children's literature author Gao Hongbo, held a discussion on the book "Walking towards the Mountains." They praised the book for its literary and authentic portrayal of Zhang Guimei's fighting spirit, and agreed that it serves as an inspiration for the younger generation to strive forward.

"Walking towards the Mountains" is a book published by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, which tells the inspiring story of Zhang Guimei, a recipient of the July 1 Medal and principal of the Huaping Senior High School for Girls. It was written by renowned screenwriter and author Yang Xiaoyan. Since its release in June 2022, the book has won multiple awards and has been included in various publication plans and reading lists. It has sold 67,600 copies and a portion of its saltes revenue will be donated to the Huaping Senior High School for Girls in Lijiang, Yunnan province.
