China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) representatives recently participated in the 23rd International Conference on Early Childhood and Preschool Education held in Monterrey, Mexico. The conference was themed "Challenges of Early Childhood Education in the 21st Century." Liu Jing, director of the Early Childhood Education Center at the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Young People (CSCLSCCYP), and director of Beijing Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten, and Liu Xiaocen, associate professor at the School of Preschool Education of Capital Normal University (CNU) and deputy director of the CNU Child Development Research Center, represented the foundation at the event.
During the conference, CSCLF delegation members highlighted the practical exploration of the comprehensive health curriculum at Beijing Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten, using it as an illustrative example. They focused on areas such as healthy diet, exercise, psychological well-being, and educational practices. This elucidated the child-centric preschool education theory with Chinese characteristics and showcased the positive outcomes achieved in China's preschool education during the new era.
Throughout the conference, delegation members also visited the Center for Child Development (CENDI), delving into Mexico's provision of comprehensive early care and education for children. The visit aimed to understand advanced practices and gain valuable insights into areas such as health care, nutrition, early childhood education, socio-emotional development, and social services.
Nearly 900 individuals participated in the conference, including government officials, experts, scholars, and representatives from international organizations and non-governmental organizations worldwide.
