On 29 Jan, the Sixteenth Meeting for Executive Council Members of CSCLF's Seventh Council was held in Beijing. CSCLF Chairman Wang Jiarui presided and addressed the meeting.
Wang Jiarui pointed out that the year 2020 was an extraordinary year. Faced with the unexpected COVID-19 pandemic, CSCLF has been actively implementing pandemic control measures while promoting new progress on all fronts under the leadership of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the new Era.
The year 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. It is also the year for CSCLF to form the eighth council. At this crucial moment, CSCLF will follow the blueprint of the CPC central committee and make concrete progress to serve the country and the people.
According to Wang Jiarui, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, CSCLF will organize a variety of activities to promote patriotism, socialism and the leadership of the Party. With the threat of COVID-19 still exists, CSCLF will also be more flexible and innovative in promoting cross-straits exchange and international cooperation. At the same time, efforts will also be made in brand building and poverty alleviation, with a special focus on rural revitalization. Wang also emphasized that the reelection of CSCLF Council should be open and transparent.
The meeting discussed and approved CSCLF 2020 Work Review and 2021 Work Plan and related personnel decisions. Council members fully confirmed the progress of CSCLF in the past year, especially against the background of COVID-19 pandemic, and proposed suggestions for further development. It is proposed that CSCLF continue to carry out a variety of theme events to promote patriotism and educate young people; take concrete measures to promote the building of a high-quality education system; and organize international forums to facilitate exchange among young people under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Vice chairmen Wang Ning, Hang Yuanxiang, Jing Dunquan and Yu Qun; vice secretary-general Tang Jiuhong, Wu Dianwu and Li Anjin; and other executive council members attended the meeting.
