2019 Reid Cup International Youth Badminton Competition begins

  The 2019 Reid Cup International Youth Badminton Competition, sponsored by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and the All-China Sports Federation, began on July 30 in Chengdu, Sichuan province.

  The competition is meant to strengthen exchanges between teenagers from different countries.

  It was hosted by the Chengdu government and the Chinese Badminton Association and received support from the World Badminton Federation and the Badminton Asia.

  On the morning of July 30, 12 teams from nine countries including China, South Korea, Mongolia, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, France, Germany and Uzbekistan were presented at the opening ceremony for the 2019 Reid Cup International Youth Badminton Competition.

  Around 120 young players will participate in the competition, which will last a week.

  At 10:30 am, CSCLF Chairman Wang Jiarui announced the start of the competition.

  After the competition, which was funded by Reid Group, participants will also take part in a number of follow-up activities.
