In order to better support the music education, improve music education quality for kids, children and teenagers in China, and strengthen Sino-Japanese non-governmental friendly exchanges, China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and Kawai Musical Instruments Manufacturing Co. Ltd. were joining forces to establish the CSCLF Kawai Music Welfare Fund, launched on December 22, 2016 in the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling, Beijing. The Fund is designed to provide trainings to music teachers, carry out universal music education and conduct music exchange programs between China and Japan.
At the signing ceremony of the Fund, CSCLF Vice Chairman Jing Dunquan expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Kawai Musical Instruments Manufacturing Co., Ltd. He said music was a language beyond translation, a bridge that transcends any nations, nationalities, and cultures, and an art that can bring people closer. He looked forward to the Fund’s support to music education for little kids in China and believed the Fund would serve as a better platform for dialogues of music lovers between the two countries.
Hirotaka Kawai, President &CEO of Kawai Musical Instruments Manufacturing Co. Ltd., underscored the company’s long-term desire to set up a music fund in China with CSLCF. He said the company would like to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with CSLCF and make more contributions to music talent cultivation and Sino-Japanese music exchanges.
