At the gathering.

CSCLF Vice Chairman Hu Zhengyue extended gratitude to Toyota Motor for its continuous donation and expressed aspirations for the growth of sponsored college students. He said, “Over the past 12 years, Toyota Motor has been committed to promoting the public welfare by receiving help, helping yourselves and then helping others. The spirit empowers students to overcome difficulties and forge ahead.”

Mr. Nobuhiko Murakami said students should fully enjoy their university life, study hard and actively engage in social practices. He called up them to make the world a better place.

The summer camp was held at China Soong Ching Ling Youth Technology Cultural Exchange Center. With a theme of “Future: A Beautiful Life”, the camp organized a variety of activities to help students experience and think about the meaning of a beautiful life from three aspects: individual development, urban development and world development. Through these activities, students fully demonstrated their talents, made new friends and had a better sense of the historical background and cultural charm of Beijing.

Professor Li Xiguang, Deputy Dean of School of Journalism and Communicating, Tsinghua University, was also invited to give a lecture named “Belt and Road – A Beautiful Life” to students. Meantime, representatives of excellent youth in Beijing also shared stories about their growth, from receiving help to offering help.

In 2006, the CSCLF and Toyota Motor jointly set up the CSCLF Toyota Education Fund, which is designed to offer financial assistance to excellent college students from low-income families. Since the founding, the two foundations have carried out three “Toyota Education Fund” projects. Over RMB 70 million has been granted to 2,590 students from Middle and West China.

Besides giving financial aid, the fund also organizes activities like college student camp, visit in Japan and career guidance training, so as to help students broaden their vision, adapt to the society and improve themselves.
