Kobe Bryant China Fund of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation joined hands with Ele.me, a Chinese online food ordering and delivery app, to invite the famous former Chinese basketball player Zheng Haixia to teach students basketball in Zhongxin Primary School in Happiness Village of Ningnan County, Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Liangshan, Sichuan Province on Feb. 21, 2017.

This public welfare activity is part of the program initiated by Ele.me, which donated ¥1 million to the Fund to establish fourteen basketball courts in five counties of Sichuan's Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in West China. Now the fourteen courts have been built, directly benefiting over 5000 students. The basketball court in Zhongxin Primary School is one of them.

At the completion ceremony, SCSLF Vice Chairman Jing Dunquan presented a bronze medal of "Love Basketball Court of Kobe Bryant China Fund" to the Principal of Zhongxin Primary School, which marks that the constructed court was officially put into use.
Tang Jiuhong, Director of CSCLF Funds Department, expressed her gratitude towards Ele.me. She said children were the future of the country and nation. China has put great emphasis on all-round education for the teenagers. A series aid programs targeting at this group have been initiated by CSCLF. She hoped to create a favorable environment for healthy cultivation of the youth of different nationalities in China with joint efforts of all sides.

Yao Zhen, senior director of the charity program from Ele.me, believed that a good business needed to have commercial targets but also shoulder its social responsibility. He regarded this event, as it helped many children in remote mountainous areas, helped the company realize its own value in return.
