China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) cooperated with Fonterra Cooperative Group and Beingmate Company to launch a public welfare event on May 6, 2016, which aimed to gather more power to assist the public welfare course through sale of work, donation and promotion.

The two companies donated products worth of 1.2 million yuan to the foundation, which would be used to help improve the nutrition and health of pregnant women, lying-in women, babies, infants, old and weak people in poverty-stricken areas. Besides, products of Fonterra Cooperative Group would be sold at a sale of work from the Mothers' Day -- May 8, 2016. They would promote the activity through new media channels, and call for more consumers who were enthusiastic about public welfare to join in. The sale of work would continue for 3 months.

Backgrounder:

The event is the third cooperation between Fonterra Cooperative Group and CSCLF. In 2009, the two sides cooperated to establish the Fonterra Rural Maternity and Infant Health-care Program, which provided medical aid and suggestions to pregnant women, lying-in women and children in Chinese rural areas. The program has trained nearly 10,000 women and children health care workers in China, and benefited nearly 10 million people. The two sides set up the Fonterra Scholarship in 2010 to discover talents for the domestic food industry. Right now the program has provided scholarship for 500 university students in stockbreeding or food majors, and made contribution to train talents for China's stockbreeding industry.

Consumers can join in the event through purchasing products, reposting the event or sending blessings. We hope this innovative public welfare event can unite people together to give out more help.
