"Youth Charity Annual Conference Cup" Baseball Invitation Tournament of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Opens

  "Youth Charity Annual Conference Cup" Baseball Invitation Tournament of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area started on 19 January in Dongsheng International Baseball Town in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province. Wang Jiarui, Member of the 12th CPPCC National Committee and Chairman of CSCLF, attended the Opening Ceremony and kicked off the game.

  Wang Jiarui, Chairman of CSCLF, Tang Hao, Chairman of Guangdong Soong Ching Ling Foundation, and Yu Qun, Vice Chairperson of CSCLF, visited players.

  The Tournament is sponsored by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and organized by Guangdong Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Hong Kong Rosamond Foundation and Macao Foundation. As part of the 2020 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Charity Annual Conference, the Tournament aims to strengthen ties among students in China's Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, enhancing friendship and promoting the spirit of public welfare undertakings.

  Xu Zheng, national baseball champion, shared his experience and encouraged young people to engage in the sport.

  The amazing performance given by kids from Dongsheng and the Chinese dragonlion team from Macao demonstrated the spirit of Lingnan culture.

  The Baseball Team of Far East University won the exhibition game with Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area league by 2-0.

  Huang Guanting from Far East University used to play baseball in Shanghai. He said that he wanted to continue his baseball career in the mainland after graduation.

  Tang Dengkai, coach of the baseball team of Far East University believed that cross-strait exchanges in baseball could facilitate the development of the sport in both the mainland and Taiwan.

  Yao Yixin from Hong Kong saw the tournament as a good opportunity to exchange ideas and improve skills. It is expected that Hong Kong baseball players could have more opportunities to compete in the mainland as there were only a few baseball competitions in Hong Kong.

  For Hong Kong baseball player Yu Haocong, it is not his first game in the mainland. He was impressed by the strength and professional skills of baseball players from the mainland.

  Youths from Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area were cheering for players.
