Invited by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF), a delegation of 18 female presidents of primary and secondary schools in Taiwan, visited Shandong and Beijing, as well as attended the 2nd Soong Ching-ling Forum--Cross-strait Female School Presidents Dialogue held in Beijing from July 5 to 12, 2016.
The delegation first visited Shandong Province from July 5 to 8. They visited Qufu, hometown of Confucius and Mount Taishan. The delegation also visited Beijing No.13 Middle School on July 9, discussed with Vice President Liu Ping and staff members, and watched students' performance of Tai Chi, Martial Arts, and Sinology songs. They also attended the exchange activity titled "From Taiwan to Taihu" in Taihu Town, Tongzhou District in the afternoon, visited Taihu Children's Library, "Tomato United Nations" Students Green Ecology Education and Practice Garden, and discussed with representatives of local school presidents and teachers. At last, female school presidents from both Taiwan and Beijing planted friendship trees together.

The 2nd Soong Ching-ling Forum--Cross-strait Female School Presidents Dialogue was held at the Former Residence of Soong Ching-ling on July 10. More than 30 female school presidents and expert across the straits attended the event.
Tang Wensheng, Vice Chairwoman of CSCLF, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. She expressed welcome and gratitude to female school presidents attending the event. Wang Huizhu, head of the delegation and president of Taipei Municipal Tien Mou Elementary School, also delivered a speech, saying they were very happy to have the chance to exchange with educators in Chinese mainland. The colorful visit inspired the school presidents very much.

The event was co-hosted by Chen Aimin, Director of CSCLF Division for Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macao Affairs, and Professor Zheng Xinrong, PhD supervisor of Education Department of Beijing Normal University, and deputy secretary-general of Chinese Women's Research Society. The event was under the theme of "Education, Female, Leadership". Participants discussed hot topics on "working arts and styles of female leaders", "Soong Ching-ling's educational thinking", "development of teaching career and continuing education", "new features of modern teenagers", "educational reform of internet era" and "school and traditional culture".
He Dazhang, consultant of CSCLF research center and expert of Soong Ching-ling studies, Chen Lvping, president of Taipei Mandarin Experimental Elementary School, and Chang Jing, standing vice president of Beijing No.4 High School, delivered keynote speeches. 14 female school presidents also delivered speeches. Song Shaopeng, associate professor from Department of CPC History of Renmin University of China, gave comments on their speeches. She said governing the school with emotions was a unique feature of female school presidents, which showed the professional spirit and quality of female leadership.

The Soong Ching-ling Forum--Cross-strait Female School Presidents Dialogue aims to build an information exchange platform for female school presidents across the straits through educational cultural visits and dialogues. It hoped educators across the straits can use the platform to realize in-depth communication on both theoretical and practical levels.
