Award-winning works from the National Public Service Announcement Contest were exhibited at the China Soong Ching Ling Science & Culture Center for Young People from Dec. 24 to 29, 2021. A total of 44 pieces spanning graphic design, illustration and video were on display, focusing on five themes including "celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC," "fighting against COVID-19," "social civilization," "green Winter Olympics" and "better life."
Wei Yuchen from Sanyili Primary School said, "This exhibition makes me realize that our happy life is hard-won. As a teenager in the new era, I will study hard and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!"
Yi Jiahe from the Beijing Haidian Huayuancun No. 2 Primary School said, "There are many animals living on the earth. Animals are our neighbors and friends. The earth and ocean are their homes and provide us resources. We should take the initiative to sort waste, reduce the use of plastic bags, make animals' homes as clean and safe as ours, and let them live and grow happily as we do."
After listening to a teacher's speech, visitor Xu Luo said, "I like the illustrations on the theme of the Winter Olympics the most. Various ice and snow events are shown in the form of illustrations, which are full of movement; the most impressive one for me is a poster about environmental protection. It depicts small sea turtles made of plastic bags and fish made of garbage. I feel a bit sad after seeing this picture. We must protect the nature."
An art teacher, Wang Yan, said: "This activity has provided a platform to guide children to enhance their awareness of environmental protection, social ethics and good customs, which has played a positive role in creating a harmonious atmosphere in the whole society. As an educator, I will also focus on combining moral education with arts education in the future and educate children to be civilized and polite young children."
