The aesthetic education courses funded by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) Jinfengtai Science and Art Fund were held online Jan. 5, during which volunteer teachers conducted a lesson entitled My Colorful Tigers for Yi ethnic children via video link. The fund also provided a children's version of The Forbidden City Calendar 2022 to 500 students.

Chen Keyi, founder of Tosee Art Education, taught the children about cultural relics depicting bronze tiger-shaped tallies in The Forbidden City and encouraged them to create their own tiger paintings.

The curator of the Forbidden City Publishing House, He Shanlian, explained to the children that their version of The Forbidden City Calendar 2022 imparts knowledge about the lunar calendar's 24 solar terms with interesting audio stories, and introduces 72 cultural relics in the Palace Museum's collection along with the 72 phenology. He said the calendar teaches children about Chinese history and culture while stimulating their imagination and creativity.
Lai Xiaofang, principal of Lake Primary School in Xide County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan province, said that this is the third year CSCLF has supported the school. Lai recalled the first year, when volunteer teachers visited Daliangshan, enchanting the students with an ancient seven-stringed zither guqin and amazing them with knowledge about the cultural relics in the Forbidden City. Lai said the project has enriched campus life for these children.
Established in October 2018, the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) Jinfengtai Science and Art Fund was co-initiated by CSCLF, Chinese Culture Development Association, and Ms. Lei Geye. The goal of the fund is to help young people inherit and carry forward traditional Chinese culture and art through domestic and international art exchanges and educational projects.
