On 21 November, 2021 Asian-Pacific Children's Convention in Fukuoka drew to a close. During the 3 months, youth representatives from 26 Asian-Pacific countries, including China, attended the event online. 4 members of Soong Ching Ling Angel of Peace Art Troupe attended the event on behalf of Chinese youth.
During the event, children greeted each other with their mother languages and introduced their own cultures and traditions. The four children from China put on the traditional costumes of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia to introduce the diverse culture of different ethnic groups of China and answered questions from children around the world.
This year, the organizing committee, in collaboration with UN-Habitat, included SDGs into the agenda of the event. Youth representatives from different countries shared their efforts in promoting the realization of SDGs and discussed proposals facilitating sustainable development in panel discussions.
The four Chinese representatives enjoyed themselves and made new friends during the event. Gao Siyuan, shared the process of making multi-functional pen containers from recycled materials and exchanged ideas with students from other countries on school life. Peng Zihan was proud of herself for being the representative of her group and present the results of group discussion. Cao Yuchen and Cao Yutong were glad to learn so much about other countries and communicate with fellow students from different cultures.
After the event, the four Chinese representatives also promoted the 2022 Olympic Winter Games to be held in Beijing and Zhangjiakou.
