CSCLF vice-chairman meets Myanmar delegation

  Hang Yuanxiang, executive vice-chairman of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF), met with May Yin Htun, chair of the Association for the Prevention, Care, and Protection of Abandoned Children in Myanmar, at the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Young People on May 9.

  Wang welcomed the delegation before briefing Chair May Yin Htun on CSCLF's general situation. He stated the goals and principles of CSCLF, as well as the foundation's philosophy on the development and education of children. He also recounted Soong's contributions to the friendship between China and Myanmar.

  Hang said that China and Myanmar, as neighboring countries, cherish their profound friendship.

  "Not Long ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, who attended the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. During the meeting, both sides agreed to deepen friendship and enhance exchanges between the two countries," Wang added.

  "CSCLF wishes to strengthen cooperation with the Myanmar Association for the Prevention, Care, and Protection of Abandoned Children and commit to safeguarding the welfare of women and children," Wang said.

  Chair May Yin Htun said that the Association for the Prevention, Care, and Protection of Abandoned Children was founded in 2018 at the suggestion of Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi. The association is committed to reducing child abandonment in Myanmar and improving the wellbeing of orphans in the country.

  "CSCLF has done a lot to improve the welfare of women and children, and has seen remarkable results. The Association for the Prevention, Care, and Protection of Abandoned Children is looking forward to enhancing cooperation with CSCLF and promoting friendly relations between the two countries," she added.

  Before the meeting, the delegation visited the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Young People. Wang Xuehong, Chinese ambassadress to Myanmar, Yang Hua, deputy director of the International Department at CSCLF, and Su Hong, deputy director of the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Young People, attended the meeting.
