CSCLF holds calligraphy festival

  The finals of the 5th Calligraphy Festival for Students from Beijing Middle and Primary Schools were held at the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Young People on May 2.

  A total of 634 calligraphy enthusiasts from Beijing, Hong Kong, and Macao made their way to the center to participate in the competition.

  The event was sponsored by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Young People, the Beijing Association for Calligraphers, and the Beijing Center for Grading Calligraphy Tests in partnership with China Mobile (Beijing), the Biyong Education Institute, and the Peaceful World Academy of Painting and Calligraphy. The organization committee has received a total of 20,234 entries since the competition started in January. A total of 634 finalists were singled out after a month of peer review.

  During the finals, participants were required to write five Chinese characters, which means "I love you China". The finals were meant to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.

  The winners of the finals will be announced in mid-May.
